TESTIMONIALS
What Patients Are Saying
Working with Heather Toma (Move to Mend Physical Therapy) for the last six months has been a game changer for me.
As a woman heading into her mid-sixties with mild osteoporosis and SI joints that frequently act up, it's been complicated to say the least to up my functional strength training. I've exercised daily most of my adult life and over the last three decades have tried various exercise regimens and personal trainers. Sadly, it was always one step forward, two steps back, due to injury after injury (SI joint, hip, plantar fasciitis, lower back, shoulder, knee, etc.). Bottom line, I've always worked hard to be healthy but haven't been effective in my quest to be stronger.
Heather has adapted her knowledge and programs to a speed that my body can handle. She's helped me assess when I need to go down a RICE path and when I can work through my pain. I've gone from not being able to sustain a functional strength training program to being able to methodically increase my load with clear, quantitative results. When my body doesn't cooperate, Heather shifts me to alternative exercises that keep me from slipping backwards.
Her depth of knowledge is extraordinary. She leads with positivity and pragmatism and develops programs that are extremely specific to her client's personality, abilities, and goals.
Due to the progress I've already made, I've chosen to augment my functional strength program by continuing to meet with her monthly to assess next steps over time, but Heather is equally supportive of her clients building the confidence to fly solo.
I HIGHLY recommend Heather as a physical therapist/trainer who can help you overcome limitations, whether physical or perceived, that are keeping you from hitting your strength-training goals. She's truly an exceptional practitioner.
